D90 - Tuesday 23rd February 2010 - This course is designed to give you an overview with hands on practical examples of the D90’s great range of features, including the ability to capture High Definition video. This will provide a better understanding of the camera and it’s features - when to apply specific settings and when not too.

D3/D3x/D700 - Wednesday 24th February 2010 - This course is designed for users wishing to understand the technology behind Nikon’s cameras and utilise the range of feature incorporated into Nikon’s newest professional Digital SLR cameras. The course will include an in-depth outline of these technologies and give a practical understanding of the latest features with hands on sessions.

Introduction to Digital SLR - Thursday 25th February 2010 - Designed for first-time users of Nikon’s range of DSLR’s, this course concentrates on providing you with simple clear advice to help you use your camera more effectively.

The Concept: Join Photoshop Retouching Guru Guy Gowan and four award winning International Photographers (Hoss Mahadavi, Vincent O’Byrne, Henk Van Kooten, Kevin Wilson), for a mind opening weekend of inspiration and learning. Places are strictly limited and the informal classroom setting invites an intensive interaction between attendees and presenters. The aim of the weekend is to offer 24 attendees an opportunity to work alongside the presenters - all masters in their field to see how they achieve their images and learn from their business experience.

The Opportunity: Each session is structured to allow smaller groups of just six attendees a fantastic chance to work alongside the presenters, see how they shoot, learn up close just what has made them so successful, understand how they approach their work and thus bring a new dimension to your creativity. Our hope is that you use the weekend to change the way you shoot!

The Cost: €995 per participant, includes all accommodation at the castle, tuition, meals and evening entertainment. Non participating attendees can avail of a relaxing schedule of entertainment at the castle and its partner spa of €495. Podge Kelly is running two courses in February that should be of interest to anybody who is into Creative Lighting on Location. These are both practical courses using superb locations within the Guinness Storehouse Dublin. The Guinness Storehouse was built in 1904 on the Chicago style of architecture offering loads of unique opportunities to be creative with light and posing. The full day will be spent shooting our two models using available light/Off Camera Flash/Video Light/Reflectors. We will try alternative constant light sources to see where you can push your creative boundaries. We will move quickly to allow everybody have as much time behind the camera to let their creative juices flow. We will cover as many locations as possible but location availability is subject to visitor numbers and access on the day –but there is no shortage of other interesting and creative backdrops as you will soon see.
